It has become totally commercial, not the markets or the shops but the human attitude. Everyone is looking for money, not ready to do anything for free. The mall culture, the exposure to the new consumerism,  the glitter and glamour has dazzled everyone and evreryone wants money. Having money and being financial independent are not bad things at all but asking question before doing any task, "MALL MILEGA KYA?" And the other attitude is' ARRE YAAR MAAL MIL RAHA HAI NA, TO SAHI GALAT KE PACHDE ME KYUN PADTA HAI?." (You are being paid, then why bother about morality?). Those who are supposed to be our role models are dancing at the diamond merchants' daughters, or sons'  weddings. Because 'Maal mill raha hai'. An upmarket channel telecasts regressive serials 'kyunki maal mil raha hai'. An industrial's wife opens an elite school where millionaires' and billionaires' children come to study, because maal mil raha hai. The wife did'nt think of opening a school for poor children because 'maal nahin milega'.   I shudder to think of future when these cheap cars will come on the roads, the not so rich and those belonging to lower class may indulge in antisocial activities because they need 'maal'  to buy the low priced car. And there are so many other things. The attitude is 'money at any cost'. And that may be the reason whgy the tribe of suicide bombers are increasing because 'maal mil raha hai'.  God alone knows where this all will lead to. I am not trying to sound pessimistic because although I am 54 yrs of age I try to move with the times, try to study  the latest trends, and try to maintain a positive outlook. But sometimes I do get concerned about too much emphasis on the 'Maal Milega Kya' and 'Maal Mil Raha hai na' attitude. Its the beginning of this attitude and sooner we get rid of it the better.
